Comme nous le verrons dans cet article, il peut m\u00eame \u00eatre <strong data-renderer-mark=\"true\">mal compris<\/strong> par le plongeur et son bin\u00f4me, ce qui conduit \u00e0 prendre de mauvaises d\u00e9cisions au cours de la plong\u00e9e, avec des cons\u00e9quences qui peuvent mettre en danger la vie du plongeur.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"Qu\u2019est-ce-que-l\u2019OPI-?\" data-renderer-start-pos=\"4670\">Qu\u2019est-ce que l\u2019OPI\u00a0?<\/h3>\n<p data-renderer-start-pos=\"538\">Lorsque nous faisons de la plong\u00e9e sous-marine ou toute autre activit\u00e9 en immersion, telle que la natation ou l&rsquo;apn\u00e9e, la <strong data-renderer-mark=\"true\">pression hydrostatique<\/strong> de l&rsquo;eau pousse une quantit\u00e9 importante de sang vers la partie centrale de notre corps, o\u00f9 se trouvent notre c\u0153ur et nos poumons. La taille du c\u0153ur et la pression de remplissage ventriculaire augmentent et donc, par cons\u00e9quent, l&rsquo;effort du c\u0153ur est plus important. Lorsque les vaisseaux sanguins p\u00e9riph\u00e9riques se contractent (<strong data-renderer-mark=\"true\">vasoconstriction<\/strong>) en raison, par exemple, d&rsquo;une immersion dans l&rsquo;eau froide ou d&rsquo;une pression art\u00e9rielle \u00e9lev\u00e9e, la pression art\u00e9rielle pulmonaire augmente \u00e9galement. La <strong data-renderer-mark=\"true\">pression sanguine dans les capillaires pulmonaires<\/strong> peut augmenter jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 un niveau qui permet au plasma sanguin de passer dans les alv\u00e9oles, o\u00f9 se font les \u00e9changes gazeux. La pr\u00e9sence de ce liquide dans les alv\u00e9oles (comme en cas de noyade) <strong data-renderer-mark=\"true\">r\u00e9duit les \u00e9changes gazeux<\/strong> et, par cons\u00e9quent, le niveau d&rsquo;oxyg\u00e8ne (hypoxie) dans l&rsquo;organisme. Par ailleurs, une pression n\u00e9gative dans les voies respiratoires peut m\u00eame aggraver l&rsquo;OPI. Cette pression n\u00e9gative des voies a\u00e9riennes peut se produire, par exemple, lors de la remont\u00e9e car, \u00e0 ce moment-l\u00e0, la t\u00eate du plongeur est plus haute que ses poumons.<\/p>\n<p data-renderer-start-pos=\"538\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-11387839 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/alertdiver.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/what_is_pulmonary_edema_diving.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"922\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alertdiver.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/what_is_pulmonary_edema_diving.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/alertdiver.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/what_is_pulmonary_edema_diving-300x270.jpg 300w, https:\/\/alertdiver.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/what_is_pulmonary_edema_diving-768x692.jpg 768w, https:\/\/alertdiver.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/what_is_pulmonary_edema_diving-700x630.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p data-renderer-start-pos=\"5932\">La cons\u00e9quence directe est l&rsquo;<strong data-renderer-mark=\"true\">essoufflement<\/strong>, la <strong data-renderer-mark=\"true\">toux<\/strong> (les expectorations sont parfois mousseuses et de couleur ros\u00e9e), la confusion et l&rsquo;incapacit\u00e9 \u00e0 accomplir ses fonctions normales. Lors de la remont\u00e9e, la diminution de la pression partielle d&rsquo;oxyg\u00e8ne dans les poumons et le corps peut aggraver les sympt\u00f4mes et entra\u00eener une perte de connaissance ainsi qu&rsquo;un arr\u00eat cardiaque.<\/p>\n<p data-renderer-start-pos=\"6311\">Bien que les personnes souffrant de probl\u00e8mes cardiaques ou d&rsquo;hypertension art\u00e9rielle soient plus \u00e0 risque, les personnes en bonne sant\u00e9 ne sont pas exemptes du risque d&rsquo;OPI. Plusieurs cas de nageurs ou de plongeurs militaires en bonne sant\u00e9 atteints d&rsquo;OPI ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 signal\u00e9s. Comme nous l&rsquo;avons d\u00e9j\u00e0 mentionn\u00e9, l&rsquo;<strong data-renderer-mark=\"true\">eau froide<\/strong> entra\u00eene une vasoconstriction, mais d&rsquo;autres facteurs, tels que<strong data-renderer-mark=\"true\"> le stress et l&rsquo;effort<\/strong>, peuvent \u00e9galement entra\u00eener une augmentation de la pression art\u00e9rielle. Une bonne <strong data-renderer-mark=\"true\">hydratation<\/strong> avant la plong\u00e9e est importante pour r\u00e9duire le risque d&rsquo;accident de d\u00e9compression, mais une surhydratation n&rsquo;est pas non plus souhaitable car elle pourrait augmenter le risque d&rsquo;OPI.<\/p>\n<h3 data-renderer-start-pos=\"2600\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-11387849 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/alertdiver.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/divers_1500-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1000\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alertdiver.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/divers_1500-1.jpg 1500w, https:\/\/alertdiver.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/divers_1500-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/alertdiver.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/divers_1500-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/alertdiver.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/divers_1500-1-700x467.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/h3>\n<h3 id=\"Reconna\u00eetre-les-sympt\u00f4mes\" data-renderer-start-pos=\"7005\">Reconna\u00eetre les sympt\u00f4mes<\/h3>\n<p data-renderer-start-pos=\"7032\">L&rsquo;OPI est manifestement un grave probl\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 et il est possible d&rsquo;aggraver la situation sans s&rsquo;en rendre compte. <strong data-renderer-mark=\"true\">Lorsqu&rsquo;un plongeur s&rsquo;essouffle<\/strong> ou a du mal \u00e0 inspirer pendant la plong\u00e9e, il peut conclure \u00e0 tort que son d\u00e9tendeur ne fonctionne pas correctement ou qu&rsquo;il n&rsquo;a plus assez de gaz respiratoire. Lorsqu&rsquo;il signale \u00e0 son bin\u00f4me qu&rsquo;il est en panne d&rsquo;air, celui-ci lui fournit une autre source d&rsquo;air, mais cela ne r\u00e9sout pas le probl\u00e8me. Alors que le plongeur devient anxieux, le bin\u00f4me devient confus car il sait que sa source d&rsquo;air alternative fonctionne parfaitement et peut conclure que le plongeur est simplement \u00e0 bout de souffle et qu&rsquo;il panique. En r\u00e9action, le bin\u00f4me peut essayer de calmer le plongeur et faire de son mieux pour \u00e9viter qu&rsquo;il ne se pr\u00e9cipite vers la surface en paniquant. Le probl\u00e8me n&rsquo;est cependant pas le d\u00e9tendeur ou la source en gaz respiratoire, et on ne fait qu&rsquo;aggraver la situation en essayant de calmer le plongeur.<\/p>\n<p data-renderer-start-pos=\"7996\">Ce qu&rsquo;il faut faire, c&rsquo;est accompagner le plongeur \u00e0 la surface et <strong data-renderer-mark=\"true\">le faire sortir de l&rsquo;eau d\u00e8s que possible\u00a0<\/strong>: cela inversera l&rsquo;effet de la pression hydrostatique sur le corps tel que d\u00e9crit pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment. Ne laissez pas le plongeur remonter seul \u00e0 la surface, car il pourrait perdre connaissance lors de la remont\u00e9e ou \u00e0 la surface.
