I Fattori di Gradiente sono presentati come una frazione della massima &ldquo;supersaturazione&rdquo; del gas inerte o&nbsp;<strong>valore M<\/strong>&nbsp;che pu&ograve; essere tollerato da ognuno dei tipi di tessuti teorici o &quot;compartimenti&quot; esaminati dal modello Buhlmann, senza incorrere nella Malattia da Decompressione (MDD). Il famoso modello Buhlmann ZH-16 presenta 16 tipi di tessuti con emivite di saturazione\/desaturazione che variano da 4 a 635 minuti.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La maggior parte dei computer subacquei o software per pianificare la decompressione consentono all&apos;utente di impostare un GF per controllare la fase iniziale di risalita dell&apos;immersione, limitando la supersaturazione o eccessiva pressurizzazione del &quot;tessuto guida&quot; (il compartimento con il maggior livello di supersaturazione) ad una frazione, es: 50% del valore M di quel tessuto. Generalmente, gli utenti impostano un secondo GF per limitare la supersaturazione dei tipi di tessuti durante la risalita finale, fino in superficie.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"fr-dib fr-draggable\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/imgimport\/986\/computer-1500.jpg\" style=\"width: auto;\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I GF possono inoltre essere usati per misurare la supersaturazione dell&apos;azoto nel tessuto guida in un dato momento e ad una data profondit&agrave; di un profilo d&apos;immersione durante la risalita in superficie. Per lo studio del Fattore di Rischio MDD, i ricercatori hanno calcolato i valori GF per i 16 tipi di tessuto nel corso ognuno dei profili d&apos;immersione usati nello studio.
