Dive events to look forward to in 2017

Salon de la Plongée (19th International Paris Dive Show 2017)
When: 6 – 9 January 2017
Where: Paris, France
Highlight: Over 400 international exhibitors all under one roof and you get to explore the city of light and love. Four days of exhibitions, diving seminars, and champagne.
Boot (46th International Boat Show 2017)
When: 21 – 29 January 2017
Where: Düsseldorf, Germany
Highlight: Focused on multiple water sports, yachts and marine tourism. You can also try out indoor surfing. Afterwards, enjoy some German wurst and explore the city’s vibrant art scene.
Subsea Expo 2017
When: 1 – 3 February 2017
Where: Aberdeen, Scotland
Highlight: Network with the leading subsea industry leaders and exhibitors, especially interesting for commercial divers. Explore old Scottish castles and enjoy some Haggis.
Duikvaker Expo (The Dutch Dive Show 2017)
When: 4 – 5 Februrary 2017
Where: Houten, Netherlands
Highlight: Intimate and friendly, with over 100 exhibitors and more than 80 speakers, focusing also on underwater film and photography.
LIDS 2017 (The London International Dive Show 2017)
When: 16 – 19 February 2017
Where: London, England
Highlight: International speakers, innovative seminars and plenty of interactive experiences including a try-dive pool. Scuba divers from all over the United Kingdom gather to share their passion.
Fira de Cornella (16 Salón de la inmersión 2017)
When: 24 – 26 February 2017
Where: Cornellà de Llobregat, Spain
Highlight: 8000 sq. meters of exhibition space for 140 diving industries gathering to promote the latest innovations.
EUDI (25th European Dive Show)
When: 3 – 5 March 2017
Where: Bologna, Italy
Highlight: One of the oldest dive shows in Europe, which started in 1992. Each year it brings together speakers from all over Europe. You also get to explore the picturesque city of Bologna and dive into delicious Italian food.
Dive Travel Show 2017
When: 4 – 5 March 2017
Where: Madrid, Spain
Highlight: Festive and friendly, with lots of workshops, free conferences and photo exhibitions. The event takes place on a weekend, a perfect opportunity to also explore the exciting city of Madrid and try some world-famous tapas.
OZTek 2017 (The Australian Diving Technologies Conference and Exhibition 2017)
When: 18 – 19 March 2017
Where: Sydney, Australia
Highlight: Meet some of the most interesting diving personalities in the world, and get to know about the latest technologies in the industry, everything from cameras to compressors.
ADEX 2017 (The Asia Dive Expo)
When: 7 – 9 April 2017
Where: Singapore
Highlight: It is one of the biggest dive expos in Asia, with lots of seminars and workshops for different kinds of divers. Many experts, tourism representatives and international speakers come together to celebrate the world of diving and discuss the issues of climate change.
30th Scuba Show
When: 6 – 7 May 2017
Where: Long Beach, California, USA
Highlight: Over 300 exhibitors, with lots of seminars and exciting talks. It is America’s largest scuba diving expo, taking place in the beautiful state of California. The event also organises a film festival and a party for divers and visitors from all around the world.
MIDE 2017 (12th Malaysia International Dive Expo)
When: 12 – 14 May 2017
Where: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Highlight: This event brings together an astonishing number of visitors and exhibitors each year. The ‘hottest’ dive expo in Malaysia has many seminars and interactive dive experiences for all ages, as well as dive equipment, courses and travel packages on sale for people interested in exploring Southeast Asia.
AIDE 2017 (Australia International Dive Expo)
When: 3 – 7 August 2017
Where: Sydney, Australia
Highlight: AIDE has been running since 2014. This year, it will happen together with the Sydney International Boat Show. The expo includes lots of exciting workshops and courses including underwater photography and maritime archaeology. It’s also an excellent expo for families with kids. If you’re a first time diver, you can also try out diving in a safe try-dive pool.
InterDive 2017
When: 21 – 24 September 2017
Where: Friedrichshafen, Germany
Highlight: This four-day trade show focuses on diving, snorkelling and travel, held in the charming town of Friedrichshafen, in the south of Germany. It includes lots of charity auctions, an environmentally concerned ‘Green Expo’, as well as a legendary ‘Night Dive’ party and diving career forum.
DEMA Show 2017
When: 1 – 4 November 2017
Where: Orange County, Orlando, Florida
Highlight: DEMA Show is probably the largest international show featuring diving, watersports and dive travel industries. Organised by the Diving Equipment & Marketing Association, this year’s edition will take place in Orlando, Florida.
The magical thing about diving is that it takes you to all the different corners of the world. There’s never a dull moment and there’s always a buddy out there who shares your passion for exploring the seas and life under water.
